On Cue

For kids 3 to 6 who can't read a clock yet

3, 2, 1, out the door.

A countdown by the door shows your kid how long until the bus leaves, what to wear, and when it's bedtime. When the bar runs out, the bus is gone. They get it, they move, and you stop being the countdown.

The On Cue e-ink display by the door: weather, today's gear, and a To School countdown where the train and bus are already gone and the car bar is still running.
The board by the door. The train and bus are already gone. The car is still running.

1How it works

“Five more minutes” means nothing to a three-year-old. A bus that's gone means everything.

Each way to school gets its own bar that drains in real time. When it runs out, that ride disappears from the screen. Kids get it on day one.

  1. The bar drains. Live departures and walking time, worked out for your home and school. No clock reading needed.
  2. The ride disappears. Miss the train and it's gone, the bus is next. A real consequence, without a parent saying it.
  3. They own it. Shoes on, jacket on, out the door. Your kid checks the board instead of waiting to be told.

2Morning and bedtime

Mornings out the door. Evenings into bed.

Morning

  • A countdown for every way you get to school: bus, train or car
  • Weather as pictures a kid can read: jacket, umbrella, boots
  • Weekend mode swaps the commute for the day's plan

Bedtime

  • A bar that drains to lights-out, on weekday and weekend times
  • Picture steps: toys away, teeth, pajamas, story
  • A sleeping moon until it's OK to get up, then the sun

3Pricing

One board. Two ways in.

A screen that's not a screen: e-ink, no glow, nothing to tap or play.

5FAQ

Is it ready now?
Not yet. On Cue is in final development and the first boards ship November 2026. Founding families get theirs first and help us tune it. Your $29 reservation is refundable anytime, and a $129 preorder is refundable until it ships.
What ages is it for?
Built for 3 to 6, before kids can read a clock. Older kids still use it as a leave-by board.
Isn't this more screen time?
There's nothing to play with. The e-ink display has no light and no touch.
We drive. Does it still work?
Yes. You get one leave-by bar based on traffic. Live bus and train countdowns start in New York City.
What if the countdown is off?
It's a guide, built from live transit data with a buffer. Founding families help us tune it before anyone else gets one.
Can I get my deposit back?
A $29 reservation is fully refundable anytime. A $129 preorder is refundable until it ships. Either way, no questions.

6Why I built it

I said “five minutes” about forty times a morning.

I'm a parent in New York, and my three-year-old had no idea what five minutes meant. A bus that leaves without her, she understands. So I built a board by the door that shows time the way kids do: something that runs out.

It's early, and I'm building it with a small group of founding families, one real morning at a time. Questions first? Book 15 minutes with me.
